Our rules

Preamble

The following rules are constantly being updated to better fit the life of the Virtual Airline (VA). Any modification of the VA’s rules will be communicated to the pilots. In the absence of their awareness of any changes, acceptance of the modifications made is considered to be tacit. If a pilot disagrees on the modifications made to the internal regulations, they will no longer be able to agree with the rules of the VA, and thus will have to submit their resignation from Arcadair.

1 – General

1.1 – Status of the VA

The Arcadair Virtual Airline is not an association. It is a virtual organization and as such does not ask for any financial compensation for registration or any other commitment than those stated below.

1.2 – Network flights

Arcadair is certified by the IVAO network. If a pilot wishes to, they are allowed to fly on this network.

2 – Registration procedures

2.1 – Admission requirements

Before registering, a pilot wishing to apply must check that they meet all the necessary conditions, namely:

  • Having read the rules in their entirety and adhering to them without restrictions,
  • Giving their real first name and not a nickname or pseudonym,
  • Being 16 years old or older when registering (no exceptions will be accepted),
  • Providing a valid email address, which will then allow the staff to communicate with the pilot,
  • Installing Discord and joining the Discord server of the VA to allow for better communication with the staff and other pilots.

Any pilot failing to provide correct information will see their registration refused.

2.2 Discord

After seeing their registration accepted, the pilot must join our Discord and introduce themselves. This will allow the staff to give them their active pilot status within the VA as well as their callsign (in the following format: ARCxxx | first name).
Subsequently, all pilots must remain on the Discord Server for as long as they are in the VA in order to keep themselves informed of the news as well as to check their private messages. If a pilot is unable to remain online on the VA’s Discord on a daily basis, they must consult it at least once a week.
If any pilot fails to provide a written response within 7 days following a private message from the staff, the staff will need to discuss the position of said pilot within the VA.

2.3 First flight following a registration validation

Once their registration is validated, any pilot will be given a two-week period to complete their first flight within Arcadair. If this flight is not carried out within the allotted time, the new pilot will be removed from the VA without warning. For any problems encountered when attempting to carry out this first flight, the pilot must contact a member of the staff on Discord.

3 – Life in the VA

3.1 – Formation

Our VA offers many training courses covering many aspects of aviation. Any pilot who wishes to do so may contact the head of the training department (ARC803) at any time to request training. The latter will direct the pilot to the relevant trainer, who will explain how to proceed with the training courses and provide the knowledge concering the acquisition of the license or qualification. The training department reserves the right to refuse or postpone a training session based on the pilot’s general attitude or if the pilot does not submit flights regularly enough.
Because those training courses are carried out on a voluntary basis by members of the VA, the pilot, by making this request, undertakes to complete the required flights in order to validate their training.

3.2 – Rules to follow as a Pilot

3.2.1 – General attitude

In an attempt to ensure the conviviality and the respect of others in the VA, any political, ethnic or religious opinions are prohibited on all means of communication of the VA (site, forum, Discord, etc.) made available to its pilots. Any person failing to comply with this rule will be excluded from the VA.
Arcadair is not responsible for the behavior of its pilots on the various networks. However, they must respect the VA’s rules (which are deemed to have been read and approved before registration). The VA’s Staff reserves the right to remove any pilot who does not respect the regulations of the various networks, or who behaves in a way that impacts the image of the VA in a harmful way on these networks.
It is up to the pilot to respect the spirit of the flight simulation (choices of aircraft according to the flight performed, establishment of coherent routes, landing V/S preferably not exceeding 800ft/min, etc.). The Staff reserves the right to reprimand any pilot who does not comply with these commonsense rules.

3.2.2 – Tracker

Our ArcA tracker is used by pilots to record their flights in order to expand their flight log. The pilot will have to launch ArcA before each flight carried out on IVAO or off-network. At the end of their flight, they will have to send a PiRep (Pilot Report). In case of a bug or forgetfulness, sending a manual PiRep is a valid option. The pilot can access it on the VA’s website via their dashboard.

3.2.3 – Flight hours

To maintain an active pilot status within the VA, the pilot must complete one hour of flight every two months, online on IVAO or offline (see next paragraph for off-network flight conditions). After this period, our site will automatically switch the pilot to the inactive status. The pilot must make a request to the staff to return to an active status.

3.2.4 – Validation of PiReps

PiReps are validated by default, without analysis on our part. If a pilot, in order to improve their piloting skills, wishes for the staff to examine and comment on their PiReps, they will have to make a request to the head of the department concerned.

3.2.5 – Unavailability and leave

No matter the reason (which they will not have to justify), a pilot may suspend their activity within the VA for an indefinite period. To do this, they will have to write a member of the staff about it. They will then be switched to the “On leave” status.

In the absence of written documents, the staff will proceed as follows:

  • After 60 days of inactivity: the pilot will automatically be switched to the inactive status.
  • After 180 days of inactivity: the staff may pronounce the exclusion of the pilot.

3.2.6 – VA Events

Our VA regularly organizes events on specific dates and/or times. Every pilot is welcome, and even strongly encouraged to participate in these events (after all, if you wanted to be part of the VA, it is probably to actively participate in the events, right?)

3.3 Grades, Tours, missions, etc.

Our grading system is established based on a minimum number of flight hours to be completed, up to the rank of OPL (Airline Pilot Officer). It is the pilot’s responsibility to notify the HR manager once this quota of hours has been reached in order to obtain their rank. Similarly, once a tour,a mission or an aerotrek has been completed, it is the pilot’s responsibility to notify the manager of the activity concerned in order to obtain the corresponding badge.

4 – Social networks

The VA has a Facebook page and a Twitter account to which pilots can subscribe. These means of communication allow, just like the forum and Discord, to stay updated on the life of the VA.
